Christina Lovaas
MEET CHRISTINA LOVAAS, BCBA

Chief Behavioral Officer and Clinical Director

I began my career in the field of Special Education in 1998 serving as a 1:1 aide for a child on the autism spectrum in San Diego, California. That experience inspired me to become a classroom teacher the following year. I was introduced to the Competent Learner Model (CLM) in 2002, when Vicci Tucci (creator of the Competent Learner Model and Founder of Tucci Learning Solutions) began coaching me to implement the CLM in my classroom. I fell in love with the CLM and was astounded at the difference I saw with my learners!

That summer I decided to expand my CLM programming to additional classroom and home program settings, by taking on the leadership role of Coordinator of Behavioral Services with the ABA company Tucci Learning Solutions. Two short years later, I grew into the role of Regional Coordinator, coaching and supporting dozens of local teams in their CLM implementation endeavors.

I served as Regional Coordinator for almost a decade, becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst while collaborating with teams in San Jose, California. I am a CLM Certified Coach and CLM Certified Coordinator. I have served as a lead Coordinator for teams across the state of California and have contributed to numerous virtual coaching projects across the United States.

One of my favorite aspects of coaching is seeing learners and their families form a stronger connection, both to one another and to the outside community. Seeing learners master the skill sets needed to gain independence and live more fulfilling lives is the most gratifying part of my work. Currently, I am the Chief Behavioral Officer and Clinical Director of Tucci Learning Solutions and am completing my Doctorate in Educational Psychology at West Virginia University.

MEET LIYU CHEN, BCBA-D

I am a doctoral level Board Certified Behavior Analyst and have gained a comprehensive understanding of the field of ABA through academic study, extensive work, volunteer experience, publishing and presentations. Since entering graduate school, I have been in the field of ABA for more than 20 years.

I started my career in the ABA field after attending a Master Program of Applied Behavior Analysis from Florida Tech in 2000, and earned a doctoral degree in Educational Psychology with a concentration in ABA from West Virginia University in 2014.

For my doctorate projects, I designed a learning model based on ABA concepts and completed an instructional design to motivate Asian students in learning. My experience includes being a co-instructor for an ABA online program and a teaching assistantship at Florida Tech, being a student teacher and supporting a CLM project at the West Virginia University nursery school and conducting training for parents and colleagues at Tucci Learning Solutions, Inc.

I have also presented at more than a hundred ABA workshops and conferences across China, Taiwan and the United States, and have published a book, “Teaching Baby Very Easy”, to help readers understand and use ABA concepts in Taiwan and China.

In addition, I always encourage my colleagues and co-workers to pursue their goals and assist them through supervision and otherwise successfully assisting their efforts to pass the BCBA exams and receive their RBT certificates.

I feel very grateful and fortunate to have had a very kind and supportive boss in Tucci Learning Solutions, and many inspirational professors and mentors in my life. Through their example, I have developed a real passion for teaching, and strive to support my students, colleagues and supervisees to achieve their goals.

MEET RAE-ANN AREVALO

Director of Staff Development (In WCN and CLM)

The CLM was introduced to me by Vicci Tucci in California in 2003 when I was a teacher in a special day class for students with ASD. In 2005, I  joined Tucci Learning Solutions as a Coordinator of Services, coaching classroom staff as well as managing home programs and providing parent training. With 13 years of teaching experience in general and special education in Canada and the United States, my professional journey continued, learning in the ABA world by becoming both a certified CLM Coach and CLM Coordinator.  My expertise is supporting parents and caregivers as well as classroom teachers to learn to implement the CLM in a reinforcing way. My passion is recognizing that adults are learners who need reinforcement for their learning as well. Currently, I am the Director of Staff Development at Tucci Learning Solutions and I am conducting CLM coaching and coordination in international implementations.
